Republican congressman Glenn Grothman says the country can’t afford the Democrats’ massive climate and health care legislation. President Joe Biden has signed the landmark bill as he aims to boost his party’s standing with voters ahead of the midterm elections. “It’s disappointing,” Grothman told WFDL news. “Our number one problem right now is the debt and the inflation that goes with the debt.” Grothman says one of his biggest concerns with the bill is the hiring of new IRS employees. “If it was 8700 I wouldn’t be screaming about it,” Grothman said. “But 87,000 is such a big number.” According to a treasury official those employees will not all be hired at the same time, they will not all be auditors and many will be replacing employees who are expected to quit or retire.
