Alliant Energy has announced it’s new community solar garden in Fond du Lac is fully operational and generating solar energy. The one megawatt project began solar production tracking January 1. President of Alliant Energy’s Wisconsin Utility David de Leon says the Fond du Lac garden is the first of what is expected to be multiple community solar locations across Iowa and Wisconsin. The Fond du Lac solar garden is fully subscribed, however residential and business electric customers can join a waitlist in the event existing customers leave the program or a new solar garden is built in Wisconsin. Customers can purchase solar blocks in the garden to cover up to 100 percent of their energy use.
