1-4-22 former fdl county republican party chair featured in new book

A new book hitting the bookshelves offers a week by week, state by state account of the effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election and the former chairman of the Republican Party of Fond du Lac County has a prominent role in the publication.  The Steal, authored by veteran journalists Mark Bowden and Matthew Teague covers the 64 days between November 3 and January 6 when president Trump and his allies fought to reverse the outcome of the vote.  Rohn Bishop was critical of Trump for his attacks on absentee voting and then after the election for claiming the election had been stolen.  “I think they (authors) listened to most of my appearances on your program (Between the Lines) and talked to other county chairs in Wisconsin to try to tell the story of what was going on behind the scenes at the local level,”  Bishop told WFDL news.  Bishop recounts in the book how the Trump campaign tried to punish him for his stance on absentee voting by pulling out of the local GOP oiffice and running their own operation on Main Street in Fond du Lac.  Working with a team of researchers and reporters, Bowden and Teague uncovered never before told accounts from election officials fighting to do their jobs amid outlandish claims and threats to themselves, their colleagues and their families.  Bowden is also the author of the popular  book BlackHawk Down.
