A Fond du Lac County mega dairy farm has been ordered to pay a hefty fine in connection with a manure runoff nearly three years ago that affected miles of creeks in the Malone and Mt. Calvary areas of Fond du Lac County. Fond du Lac County Circuit Court judge Peter Grimm has ordered a judgement against Redtail Ridge Dairy in the amount of $60,000. A DNR wastewater specialist says the farm was in violation of it’s nutrient management plan when it spread manure on fields prior to heavy rain in August of 2018. More than eleven miles of stream were affected and fish kills were observed in a nearby stream and the Sheboygan River. The area straddled the Towns of Taycheeda and Marshfield.
