1-22-21 grothman not that impressed with biden inauguration speech

Republican congressman Glenn Grothman wasn’t all that impressed with president Joe Biden’s inauguration speech this week.  “A lot of his speech was kind of what you would expect…stuff about unity.  The type of thing you’d hear in a graduation speech, or inauguration speech or what have you,”  Grothman told WFDL news.  Grothman says he thinks the president focused too much on racism.  “He kept talking about racism or white supremacy or what not.  He returned to that theme five times in his speech,”  Grothman said.  “When I get around and talk to people who come here…Philippines, India, Tunisia, Nigeria, they all seem to be doing just fine in America.”   Out of the more than dozen executive actions taken by the president, Grothman says he was most disappointed with the decision to shut down the Keystone pipeline.  “Here you are talking about 1,000 very well paid jobs.  I think the pipeline is probably good for the economy.  Transporting oil by pipeline is safer than transporting oil by rail.”     The Keystone pipeline system is currently made up of four phases that have been completed in steps since 2010, phase 1, 2, 3a and 3b. Construction of the final phase, commonly known as Keystone XL, was halted by the Obama administration, restarted by the Trump administration and will be again shut down by the Biden administration.  Grothman and other Republican members of the Wisconsin congressional delegation sent a letter to president Biden expressing their support for the project.
