9-17-20 marshfield medical center beaver dam issues new restrictions

Citing rising COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in and around Dodge County and with the flu season right around the corner Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam is indefinitely restricting inpatient visitation.   Effective immediately no visitors will be allowed into the hospital  inpatient unit.   Hospital CEO Angelia Foster says there are some some exceptions including  one birth partner per delivering mother, two adult visitors for end of life situations and a  minor child patient may be accompanied by one parent or guardian.    Foster says the measures are being taken  to ensure the health and safety  of all who enter the  facilities.       Other areas, including outpatient surgery, clinics and emergency services, are not currently affected,  but  restrictions for Hillside Manor, Eagle’s Wings and Remembrance Home remain in effect.    “ While we understand it can be difficult for patients and their loved ones, visitation restrictions help limit the number of people in our facilities, which supports social distancing and limits opportunities for spread of the virus,”  Foster said.   “These decisions are never easy, but our community can always trust that safety is our top priority.”   “The safeguards we have in place, including mandatory masking, screening for all who enter our facilities, and utilization of proper personal protective equipment mean patients can feel assured it is safe to entrust us with their care.”
