7-1-20 job market stalling

A retired Ripon College economist says there are signs that modest improvement to the U.S. job market may be stalling.  The number of laid off workers seeking U.S. unemployment aid barely fell last week, and the reopening of businesses has leveled off.   Retired Ripon College economist Paul Schoofs says the news follows a surge of coronavirus cases in several states across the country.  The government also reported the economy contracted at a fi ve percent annual rate in the first three months of the year.   Schoofs says the news should be a warning sign for Wisconsin as it continues to reopen.
