A Portage man has been arrested and will face charges in connection with an overdose death.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says it began an investigation after the overdose death of a 45-year-old man back on February 7, 2020.
As a result of that investigation, 28-year-old Samuel Osornio was arrested on May 18, 2020.
He was already facing a single felony count of Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says Osornio will now be charged with 1st Degree Reckless Homicide, which carries a penalty of up to 60 years in prison.
Osornio was on probation for a different possession charge at the time of the death, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
