3-26-20 city’s lawsuit seeks to delay april 7th election

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Local officials’ frustration with Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers’ refusal to order any changes to the upcoming presidential primary to protect people from the coronavirus is boiling over. The city of Green Bay filed a federal lawsuit seeking to cancel in-person voting. River Falls officials are questioning how they can run the election in the face of Evers’ stay-at-home order. Republican leaders say they’re backing Evers’ decision to keep the election on track and Evers doesn’t have the power to change the parameters unilaterally. The election features a Supreme Court race and local races as well as the presidential primary.
