A Beaver Dam man is going to jail for pointing a gun at a police officer. Dodge County Circuit judge Steven Bauer placed 36 year old Richard Henke on three years of probation with nine months in jail for Intentionally pointing a firearm at a Law Enforcement officer and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. According to a criminal complaint Henke pointed a rifle at a police officer who had responded to a domestic incident on October 26, 2018. The officer shot and wounded Henke. According to the complaint Henke was trying to get officers to kill him. The defendant had become suicidal due to mental health problems he developed during his military service, according to the complaint.
