1-22-20 state senate approves bill to address homelessness

The director of the Wisconsin Coalition Against Homelessness says he is pleased the state senate has finally acted on one of eight bills designed to fight homelessness in Wisconsin.  The bill approved Tuesday would increase funding for a grant program that provides funding for homeless shelters by  $500,000 each of the next two years.  Wisconsin Coalition Against Homelessness executive director Joe Volk tells WFDL news unfortunately the senate could have acted before winter and the cold and snow set in.   The Assembly approved all eight bills, which spend $3.7 million a year, back in June.
