12-11-19 ripon high school student charged with making terrorist threats

A Ripon High School student accused of leaving a threatening note in a girls bathroom has been charged.  Lillian Cavell made her initial Fond  du Lac court appearance Tuesday on a charge of making terrorist threats and disorderly conduct.   The charges carry a maximum penalty of three years, nine months in prison and $11,000 in fines.   She is free on a $1,000 signature bond with conditions that she not have any firearms or ammunition in her home and that she not have any contact with Ripon High School or any individuals listed on the note.   Police say the note threatened 17 students and a teacher, and forced a “soft lockdown of  the school last week and cancellation of the boys basketball games the following evening.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 17.
