East Cotton Street from North Park Avenue to McKinley Street
Schedule: May 2019 through September 2019
Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.
October 14 th to October 17 th : The paving contractor will place asphalt surface early in the week and the road will be open to traffic the day after.
Traffic Impacts: East Cotton Street is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
McKinley Street from Rose Avenue to Stow Street

Marquette Street from Arndt Street to McWilliams Street
Schedule: July 2019 through October 2019
Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.
October 14 th to October 17 th : The excavation contractor will begin removing pavement, drive approaches, select  sidewalk sections, grading and placing stone base.
Traffic Impacts: Marquette Street is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working  hours.
Arndt Street Bridge Replacement, Arndt Street between Satterlee Street and Lincoln Avenue
Schedule: June 2019 through October 2019
Description: The project includes the replacement of the Arndt Street Bridge over the West Branch of the Fond Du Lac River. This project is a partnership between the City of Fond du Lac and the Wisconsin Department of  Transportation (DOT).
October 14 th to October 17 th : Contractor will finish removing all falsework and formwork from the project site. The contractor will have a crew onsite forming and pouring the concrete sidewalks on the east and west ends of the new bridge.
Traffic Impacts: Arndt Street between Lincoln Ave. and Satterlee Street is closed to thru-traffic. Boat traffic under the structure will be restricted at time as work progresses.
County Road V from Pioneer Road to Fond du Lac Avenue
Pioneer Road from Sherwood Boulevard to Wedgewood Road
Schedule: April 2019 through end of November 2019
Description of work: The project includes reconstruction of the water main and services and partnership with Fond du Lac County for new storm sewer, street, pedestrian trail, and lighting.
October 14 th to October 17 th : Fond du Lac County Highway Dept will be continuing restoration and backfilling curb and terraces.  Fine grading the existing base will start with potential asphalt pavement installation toward the end of the week pending weather and site conditions.  Electrical contractor continues to install conduit and bases on CTH
V’s northern section.  Concrete contractor will be finishing up pouring islands, curb and gutter, approaches, sidewalk, and driveways along CTH V north of CTH VV Pioneer Road.
Traffic impacts: County Road V from Fond du Lac Avenue and Pioneer Road is closed to through traffic. Additionally,  Pioneer Road from Sherwood Blvd to Wedgewood Lane is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. Project Detour: North on Fond  du Lac Avenue to South on Martin Avenue to west on Pioneer Road.
Various Bridge Railing Painting: USH 151, Merrill Ave. 9 th St., Grove St. Doty St. and Martin Ave.
Schedule: October 2019 through end of October 2019
Description: The project includes repairs to the deteriorating paint of these bridge railings. Touchup paint work will  take place at each of these bridges.
October 14 th to October 17 th : Crews will be water blasting the railing, removing the loose paint and repair painting these areas.
Traffic Impacts: At the above-mentioned bridges, there will be equipment along the curb line and some lane restrictions are possible. Please be cautious when approaching these bridges.
STH 23, W. Johnson Street Bridge: N Military Ave. to Chestnut
Schedule: October 14 through October 17, 2019
Description: The project includes replacing the bridge expansion joint gland and staining the abutment face along Brook Street.
October 14 th to October 17 th : Crews are scheduled to begin replacing the expansion joint gland about 8pm on Thursday, October 17 th , weather pending. The Johnson Street Bridge will be closed for this work and could be closed until 5am when the bridge will be reopened. The staining of the abutment face along Brood Street will be complete  this week, weather pending.
Traffic Impacts: W. Johnson Street Bridge (STH 23) will be closed October 17 from 8pm until 5am. Please use an alternate route during this time. Please be cautious when approaching the bridges.
WIS 23 Resurfacing
Location/Limits: WIS 23 from Town line Road to County VVV Fond du Lac County.
Length of Project: 1.9 miles
Schedule: September 9, 2019 to late November 2019
Cost: $3.4 million
Description of work: This project will resurface WIS 23 in the project limits and add a left-turn and right-turn lane at the intersection of WIS 23 and Esterbrook Drive. Slotted left-turn lanes will be added at the WIS 23/County VVV intersection along with new signal upgrades. Concrete base patching and culvert pipe replacement will be conducted  throughout the project limits.
October 14 to October 18:  Contractor will finish paving. \The electrical contractor will install the cabinet and pull wire. Placement of rumble strips and shoulder gravel will be completed. Filling and grading operations behind curb will occur. Areas that are ready will be landscaped. Pavement marking may begin.
Traffic impacts: There will be a nighttime full closure of WIS 23 on Friday night, October 11, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to  mill and pave the entire WIS 23/County VVV intersection.   WIS 23 will be closed to through traffic from Townline Road to County VVV beginning Monday, Sept. 9  for a maximum of 35 working days.  Local and emergency vehicle access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the project during the closure.  Work will be conducted under flagging operations when the detour is not in place.
Detour: A signed detour will direct westbound WIS 23 traffic north on I-41 to southbound WIS 26 back to westbound WIS 23. The detour will direct eastbound WIS 23 traffic north on WIS 26 to southbound I-41 back to eastbound WIS  23.
