Fond du lac police are investigating if a man apprehended by a resident may be responsible for a series of vehicle entries in the city over the last couple of weeks. Police received reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles on 12th and 15th Streets over the weekend. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says they appear to be crimes of opportunity. Klein says Monday evening there were reports of car break-ins in the Holly Tree Lane area. Klein says a witness was able to detain a suspect and police are trying to determine if the individual is responsible for other car entries in the city. Earlier this summer police arrested a couple of juveniles for a series of car entries.
