6-25-19 fdl advisory park board recommends approval of lakeside park pavilion concept plan

The Fond du Lac Advisory Park Board has recommended approval of a concept plan for a new Lakeside Park pavilion.  The board  forwarded its recommendation to the council following their meeting Monday night.  Fond du Lac Public Works director Jordan Skiff says Noon Rotary has agreed to sponsor a Centennial Plaza between the new pavilion and Lake Winnebago.  The recommendation follows a council workshop last month to move forward with a new pavilion minus a balcony to alleviate any concerns about handicap accessibility.   Skiff says the estimated cost of the  latest proposal is $3.2 million.  Skiff says the new structure would include a stone exterior,  air conditioning,  would be closer to the water,  and would be larger  than the existing structure.   Skiff says if the council gives the okay construction would start in the fall of 2020 and completed in time for Walleye Weekend 2021.
