4-16-19 city of fdl to experiment with new pothole patching material

The Fond du Lac Public Works director says he hopes a new material used to patch potholes will last longer and save the city money in the long run.  As winter turns into spring, public works crews are beginning the process of repairing potholes that have developed as the frozen ground thaws.   Public Works director Jordan Skiff says anechdotal reports of larger potholes this spring may be due in part to the unusual rapid warm-up experienced last month.  Skiff says this year, instead of using asphalt, the city plans to experiment with a stronger concrete material.  Skiff says while the upfront cost is more expensive, the city should save money in the long run if the patch lasts longer.
