2-12-19 aaa study-electric vehicle useage in cold weather

A new AAA study shows that icy temperatures can cut electric vehicle range nearly in half.    State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmuscz says the new AAA research show for every 100 miles of combined urban/highway driving, the range at 20 degrees would be reduced to 59 miles.  Jarmuscz says AA urges electric vehicle owners to be aware of a reduction in range when colder temperatures hit, and the need to charge more often to minimize  the chance of being stranded by a dead battery.
