1-22-18 fdl county sheriff’s deputies busy arresting drunken drivers

It was a busy start to the weekend for Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies pulling over drunk drivers.   Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says in a little more than four hour stretch starting shortly after 11:30 pm Friday until early Saturday morning deputies made six OWI arrests.  “This is an unusually high number of OWI arrests on one shift, and should serve as a reminder that our deputies are watching for drunk drivers year around, not just during highway safety task force deployments or during national campaigns that focus on drunk driving prevention around the holidays,”  Waldschmidt said.   A summary of the arrests:

  • 11:39 p.m., speed violation, Hwy 45 at Lake Dr., 40-year-old male, 1st offense
  • 2:12 a.m., registered owner was suspended, Hwy 151 at Wonser Rd., 30-year-old female, 2nd offense
  • 2:27 a.m., speed violation, CTH V at Hwy 151, 26-year-old male, 1st offense
  • 2:49 a.m., suspicious vehicle at a business near Miranda Way and Brown Rd., 27-year-old male, 1st offense
  • 3:18 a.m., unsafe driving behavior, CTH V at CTH W in Campbellsport, 20-year-old male, 1st offense
  • 3:55 a.m., disorderly conduct complaint investigation, Colonial Dr., 22-year-old male, 2nd offense
