2-20-17 arrests made, citations issued following incident at beaver dam restaurant

Dodge County law enforcement issued multiple traffic stops, citations, warnings and a felony drug arrest following an incident at a Beaver Dam restaurant.   Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says law enforcement recently received a tip that a group of individuals were planning a gathering at Pops Eatery in Beaver Dam.  Schmidt says due to past incidents at the establishment that have led to disturbances and criminal activity, the sheriff’s office criminal interdiction team was deployed.   Police arrested two individuals for resisting/obstructing.   They also made arrests for felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and bail jumping.  Eleven sheriff’s office squads were deployed during the 6 hour deployment.   Schmidt says the sheriff’s office is unable to confirm at this time any connection to the shootings that took place in the City of Madison following these incidents, however the sheriff’s office is working with law enforcement from Madison to assist them in their investigation.
