The executive director of a Wisconsin immigrants rights group says Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clark should resign. Christine Neumann-Ortiz with Voces de la Frontera helped organize a rally this week to protest the sheriff’s plans to crack down on illegal immigration. “Its just another example of a lack of seriousness he (Clark) takes to his position and its a call that’s been raised up by other elected officials from Milwaukee County and the state because of the very provocative statements he makes to serious issues,” Neumann-Ortiz told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. Neumann-Ortiz says the federal 287g program would do nothing to build any kind of public safety. Thousands of Wisconsin activists, including people from the Fox Valley and northeast Wisconsin participated in the rally.
